How to practice
- 1Choose a word that ends in an open vowel or soft breath — like "ah".
- 2Say it slowly and let the ending dissolve into outward breath.
- 3Do not start the next word. Stay in the open trailing breath.
- 4Let that openness widen until it has no edges.
Terms in this technique
- visarga
- The breathy "ḥ" sound; the point of emission/release.
- śabda
- Sound, word — both spoken and inner.
- śūnya
- Void, emptiness — not nothingness but open, contentless awareness.
