Close the gates of the senses; in the point of light that appears and dissolves, the supreme state rests.
▶ Practice this technique10 / 20 min · eyes closed
How to practice
- 1Sit upright and gently close the gates of the senses — eyes, ears, nostrils, lips — with the fingertips (the śāṇmukhī gesture), without pressing hard.
- 2In the inner darkness, watch for a subtle point of light (bindu) appearing near the brow-centre.
- 3Hold soft attention on that point; do not chase it.
- 4As the point gradually dissolves, rest in the supreme stillness at its centre.
Practice note. Press the closed lids and ears only lightly — this is a gesture, not force. The light may be faint at first; patience lets it steady.
